In the 1980s, John Demjanjuk was a retired auto worker living a quiet life with his family in a Cleveland suburb. (Seven Hills)
But in 1985, a group of Holocaust survivors identified Demjanjuk as Ivan the Terrible, a sadistic Nazi death camp guard who tortured men, women, children, and babies before pushing them into the gas chamber at the Nazi German Treblinka camp in occupied Poland.

Thirty miles outside of New York City, nestled in the Long Island town of Amityville, stands the house forever linked to the Amityville Horror phenomenon. On November 13, 1974 the estate was the scene of a mass murder. But the reasons why? We're not so sure. It just seems like a LOT of money has been made over some "ghost". Heres some facts, some folklore, and good ole speculation to figure out this mystery.

Charles Howard "Smitty" Schmid, Jr., also known as "The Pied Piper of Tucson" was an American serial killer. His crimes were profiled by journalist Don Moser in his article "The Pied Piper of Tucson", featured in the March 4, 1966 issue of Life magazine and are the basis for "Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been?", a short story by Joyce Carol Oates. In 2008, The Library of America selected Moser's article for inclusion in its two-century retrospective of American True Crime.

Cultural historian Rich Cohen places him as the first New York City legendary gangster figure, a bridge between piracy of old and rise of a new gangster nation.

In 1979, brothers Linwood Briley, James Briley Jr., and Anthony Ray Briley went on a seven-month killing spree in their hometown of Richmond, Virginia. When they were finally caught, there were 11 people dead, although investigators believed that there were as many as 20 victims.
